Things are moving in terms of forward transactions and their taxation! As is well known, the taxation of forward transactions was revised in 2020. This new regulation, which stipulates that losses from futures transactions may only be offset against income from them and only up to €20,000, caused serious difficulties for many private investors. In various cases, the tax authorities recognised high profits despite possibly high losses. Accordingly, they also made high tax demands.
