Risk fee for high-risk custody accounts:
Customer custody accounts can be categorised as high-risk custody accounts. The classification is based on the results of ongoing, standardised stress tests. Based on this, the custodian institution can calculate a daily exposure fee for custody accounts identified as high-risk and charge this to the custody account. Due to the possibly very short-term adjustment by the custodian institution, the resulting prompt calculations cannot be presented in a fixed manner. You can request further information on risk fees via our contact form .

Free custody account statements

And annual reports

Monthly/daily custody account statements in PDF format and the sending of custody account statements are free of charge. We also provide you with an annual report free of charge so that you can submit any gains/losses in your tax return**. As a rule, 7 years of custody account statements are available in the custody account management system. If additional custody account documents are required, these can be requested from the archive for a fee. Please use our contact form for this purpose.

Overview of costs for capital gains tax certificate

For withholding tax receipts

The withholding tax is not paid by the custodian institution!

Certificates of the withholding tax (capital gains tax) withheld on capital measures such as dividend payments or fund distributions can be requested from the respective securities depository. The regulations for possible refunds and/or certificates vary greatly from country to country. Such proof incurs external costs per payment made (line/ISIN) and securities account.

Please request the required withholding tax document via our contact form.

Further information on the management fee can be found in the prospectuses for the depositary receipts.

If an order is partially executed at several trading centres due to the nature of the order, the transaction costs of the trading centre with the highest transaction costs may be used to calculate the total costs for the order. In addition to the partial executions, third-party fees may be added for each partial execution in a few individual cases specific to the trading centre.

Practice

The exercise of an option right, e.g. to buy/sell shares. You can read more about how options work on the Options page.

Service fees

The following is a list of fees that are due and may be charged for third-party services. The basis for this are services that are prescribed by legal regulations. Furthermore, third-party services are listed which are absolutely necessary in order to implement the instructions of the custody account holder. These fees may be changed from time to time without prior notice and may be charged to the account holder when the service is utilised.

Services include telephone and e-mail support, application for LEI numbers for companies and custody account transfers.

Service request
Technical support relating to the operation of the custody account is generally provided by telephone using the Teamviewer or another remote path. Special services that go beyond the normal scope of the service can be invoiced separately.

Other ancillary costs and disbursements
The custody account holder is responsible for all ancillary costs and disbursements arising directly or indirectly from this business relationship and must bear these in full. Ancillary costs or disbursements may include, for example, a service, processing and administration fee, postage, tax or a brokerage fee in favour of a third party. In the event that a service is provided for the custody account holder which is not included in the above list of services and prices, but which is or was nevertheless provided for the custody account holder and which, according to the circumstances, can only be expected to be provided in return for payment and no separate agreement exists with the custody account holder, the statutory principles and regulations shall apply. The General Terms and Conditions and all other agreements between the custody account holder and third parties which are necessary for the performance of services in connection with the custody account shall apply. If you have any questions, please send an e-mail to leistung@agora-direct.de.

Briefly explained:

Lei number (only for corporate customers)

The LEI code is a twenty-digit, alphanumeric company identifier that has been established as an international standard for companies in the financial market. Each LEI code is assigned once and enables a global assignment to a specific company, which has been mandatory for all companies since 2016.

If the company does not yet have an LEI, the assignment of the necessary LEI (Legal Entity Identifier) can be transferred to us. The LEI assignment is subject to a fee and an annual fee is charged. The fee is debited from the trading account, at the earliest 10 days before or 14 days after the annual due date.

Further information on the LEI number for companies can be found on the BaFin website.

Note: The deposit, withdrawal and transfer fees do not include any third-party fees, e.g. the bank/broker from or to which a deposit, withdrawal and/or transfer is made from the custody account in question, which was opened via AGORA direct™.
Fees charged by third parties, i.e. a bank/broker or their correspondent institutions, are not within the sphere of influence of the custodian institution concerned here. Custody account holders should enquire with the respective sending, receiving or transferring institution as to whether fees are incurred for planned deposits, withdrawals or transfers. The custody account holder is responsible for all processing fees that are charged, for example due to incorrect or incomplete connection details. Third-party fees may reduce the deposit, withdrawal or transfer value by deducting the fees.

Margin & Interest

A benchmark is determined as the basis for determining interest rates. This benchmark is calculated by the custodian institution from the combination of international reference interest rates, interest rates for bank deposits and dynamic interbank rates determined by money markets.

To determine the margin interest and interest rates, a difference (spread) is added around a variable rate for each currency; this difference is determined together with the custodian institution; this is the spread interest. The result is that the benchmark plus the spread rate equals the base rate (BG). The calculation formula for the margin, interest, lending and financing interest rates for the trading portfolios is shown in tabular form below.

Briefly explained:

What does margin mean?

Margin is a security deposit for the receipt of your products. You can read more about margin on our "Margin rules" page.

What is interest?

You pay interest, for example, on currencies in which you are in the red and have taken out a loan or on short sales.

Interest

Debit interest

A permanent securities lending facility (margin deposit) is available to private stock exchange traders under certain conditions. Utilisation results in interest being payable on borrowed amounts. The current maximum debit interest rate per currency is shown on our website. Please note that the interest rates shown only represent the maximum possible interest rate. As a rule, the debit interest rates actually charged are significantly lower. Interest is calculated daily and the interest amounts actually accrued are posted monthly on the third business day of the following month. The maximum debit interest rates may change at short notice without prior notification of the custody account holder. Adjustments are made at regular intervals, for example to compensate for changes in exchange rates.

Negative interest on credit balances

Customer custody accounts with credit balances may be charged negative interest in accordance with the interest rate stipulated by the respective national central bank. The current amount can be seen below.

CFD financing interest rate

The CFD financing interest is calculated in the respective trading currency for CFD contracts that are not closed. The calculation begins at the respective regular close of trading; from this point onwards, open CFD contracts held in the custody account are deemed to be overnight positions. The calculation basis is the respective monetary CFD trading volume. The respective valid, current maximum CFD financing interest rate is listed per currency.

Withholding tax form

As your stock exchange trading account is managed in Ireland by the custodian institution, the Irish tax authorities charge withholding tax on interest earned and deduct this directly from your trading account. This amounts to 20%, but can be reduced to 0% using withholding tax form 8-3-6.

The form must be confirmed by the tax authorities in your country.

Form for EU-clients

Form for NON-EU-clients

To find out the final withholding tax rate you will be charged, please visit the website of the Irish Revenue Commissioners: Tax Rates
